CA® Clear Aligner – a digital orthodontic aligner system
CA® Clear Aligner is a custom-made system of transparent orthodontic aligners intended for treatment provided by dentists and orthodontists. The solution was developed for a modern digital workflow in which predictability, manufacturing consistency and efficient cooperation between the dental practice and the laboratory are of key importance.
At KarDent, aligner cases are completed using intraoral scans, digital case analysis and a sequence of aligners prepared in accordance with the treatment objectives submitted by the clinician. Each case is developed individually — without standardised templates or simplified protocols that are not adapted to the specific clinical situation.
Digital case planning
The process begins with the submission of intraoral scans, a bite registration and the clinical information required to prepare the case. Based on these materials, we prepare a digital setup that makes it possible to evaluate the planned sequence of changes and organise the consecutive stages of aligner treatment.
This approach supports the clinician’s assessment of the case before treatment begins and facilitates communication with the patient. A digital workflow also helps structure the production process and reduce the risk of inaccuracies during the manufacturing stage.
Custom aligner production
CA® Clear Aligner trays are manufactured individually for each case. The process includes preparing working models, checking intermediate stages and producing a sequence of transparent aligners in accordance with the approved plan.
The accuracy of the submitted data, a correctly prepared setup and consistent laboratory quality control are essential. As a result, the clinician receives a system that structures staged treatment and supports its implementation according to the planned sequence.
Cooperation with the practice and system capabilities
CA® Clear Aligner was designed to support the everyday work of dental and orthodontic practices. The system may be used in cases qualified by the clinician for aligner treatment, taking into account the planned course of treatment, the need for attachments and the use of additional supporting components.
Depending on the case, the clinician may plan the use of:
- attachments,
- orthodontic elastics,
- components supporting the control of specific tooth movements,
- staged delivery of consecutive sets of aligners,
- modifications to the plan during subsequent phases of treatment.
The scope of use of the system and the way in which it is applied are determined in each case by the treating clinician.
A clear workflow and predictable production
One of the key advantages of the CA® Clear Aligner system is its structured digital workflow. The clinician receives a clear cooperation process: from submitting the data, through case analysis and plan approval, to the preparation of aligners for a specific stage of treatment.
This organised workflow improves communication with the laboratory, facilitates monitoring of treatment progress and makes it easier to plan the next stages in a more predictable manner. For the practice, this means greater transparency throughout the process, while the patient receives an aesthetic solution based on an individual treatment plan.
Materials required to begin the case
The following materials are required to begin production:
- intraoral scans of the upper and lower arches,
- a bite registration,
- information regarding the treatment plan,
- an indication of the scope of the case,
- information about planned attachments or additional components, where applicable.
For more complex cases, the proposed production process may be discussed with the KarDent laboratory in advance. This helps organise the documentation and prepare the workflow in the most efficient way.
